Steve Phillips

Steve Phillips is a joint creator and Director at ERMCO with a focus on delivering Fire Safety Management training to the business sector and promote business continuity from a fire incident.

Steve has decades of successful experience in managing, leading, and resolving operational fire incidents within the fire sector with the inclusion of being a fire investigation officer. He has audited and enforced on fire safety matters for the fire authority. He led and was inclusive on national projects and guidance on gathering premises fire and hazard risk information to inform emergency responders. Most recently working with Gatwick International Airport and Network Rail as an inter-services liaison officer, he oversaw the implementation of a newly designed emergency response access and risk information strategy.

Recently Steve served as a fire service operational Commander and manager, managing and leading operational firefighters, working alongside businesses in a fire service liaison role, helping to promote a good fire safety management ethos.

Steve attended the Fire Service College and holds a Level four diploma award in fire safety. He gained the “Advanced Professional Certificate in Legal Skills in Investigation” and a masters award in “Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence”. He became a fire investigation officer and holds the Level three certificate in this field, he also held his Operational Incident Commanders certification for over 20 years and will continue to qualify within this business. Through Steve’s health & safety background, he completed his NEBOSH certification and Lead accident & investigation qualification.
